Amber spirit poured into a glass on a dark bar

A Live Experience & Podcast Series from Half Past Six

The Pour.

Every glass holds a story. We pour it slow.

Spirits, wine, beer, tea, coffee, and zero-proof — and the honest conversations that bring them to life. Recorded live in real rooms — city by city — scored by local musicians, and open to everyone at the table.

Pour

Where taste becomes conversation

Half Past Six has always been about bringing people together. The Pour takes that same spirit and puts it in a glass.

Music lovers, industry pros, and creators sharing one room full of energy and ideas — that's what we've always done. Each series, we explore one beverage category at a time. We sit down with the makers, the enthusiasts, and the curious first-timers. We ask real questions. We drink in the story. And we do it all with live music playing and zero pretension in the room.

No experts talking down to you. No passwords to get in. Just great drinks, great company, and the culture behind every cup.

The Format

What is
The Pour?

A round table, a record on the needle, and an honest talk about what we drink and why it matters — recorded inside real venues, in whichever city we set the table next.

One category per series

Tequila, gin, scotch, vodka, beer, wine, tea, coffee, or zero-proof — each gets its full attention, its own name, and its own sound. We don't sample everything badly; we take one thing seriously.

Live music, live room

A local musician or DJ scores every episode, matched to the mood of the series. The music isn't background — it's the second half of the conversation.

A rotating table

Makers, aficionados, and total newcomers sit side by side. The mix changes every time — and so does the city — and that's the point. The best question in the room is usually the one nobody was afraid to ask.

Learning without lecturing

We bust the myths, skip the gatekeeping, and make beverage culture something you can actually enjoy. Come thirsty. Leave inspired.

How a night runs

Doors at half
past six.

6:30 PM Doors & first pourYou get a glass in your hand before you get a seat. Nobody works a room empty-handed.
7:00 PM The table opensRecording starts. Makers and guests take the round table — and the room is close enough that you're part of it, not watching it.
7:45 PM The setThe musician scoring the series plays live. Same room, same night, straight into the episode.
8:30 PM Open floorThe mics come down and the mixer begins. This is where the business cards and the second round come out.
After The episodeThe night is edited and released as a podcast, so the conversation outlives the room.

The Series

One category.
Its own sound.

Every series sets its own mood, sound, and story — while staying part of the same family. They run independently, in any city, in any order.

Agave Underground

Additive-free, gatekeeping-free.

The flagship series. We dig into the additive-free movement, the eight-year patience of the plant, and the families behind every bottle.

Beer

Session

Brewed to stay a while.

Named for the beer built to keep you at the table. Styles, water, hops, and yeast — from a clean pilsner to a barrel-aged stout — and the brewers who know the finish matters as much as the first sip. No snobbery, no tasting-note theater.

The daytime patio series. Fresh, playful, and garden-forward, exploring the gin renaissance and the craft distillers reclaiming the category one small batch at a time.

Slow Steep

The oldest ritual, unhurried.

The series that slows the whole room down. We explore terroir, ceremony, and the growers turning a daily habit into an art.

The Long Finish

Smoke, salt, and time.

The series that rewards patience. We get into peat and provenance, what a cask actually does to a spirit over a decade, and why an age statement was never the whole story — without a single tasting-note cliché.

Neutral Ground

The most misunderstood spirit in the room.

Vodka gets written off as flavorless. We take the opposite position — base grain, water, and filtration, poured side by side so the room can taste the difference for itself. Named for the strip of green down the middle of a New Orleans street — where the name came from, not where it stops.

Mocktails & Zero-Proof

Zero Proof

Nothing missing.

The series that proves a great drink was never about the alcohol. House shrubs and cordials, fermented tepache, verjus, saline and bitters built from scratch — same technique, same hours, same craft. We sit with the bartenders writing zero-proof menus that aren’t an afterthought, and with everyone who’s ever been handed a sad soda and told it counts.

Bartenders, buyers, and lifelong enthusiasts who can tell you what changed in the category over the last ten years — and what's overrated.

Who's just curious

The most important chair at the table — so we set three of them. The people meeting the category for the first time are the majority of the table, on purpose. If it can't be explained to someone new without condescension, it isn't worth saying.

Why Join

Experience

Not just information

This isn't a webinar or a stiff tasting. It's a live event with music, energy, and a room full of people who love what's in their glass as much as you do.

Access

A seat at the table

Sit alongside makers, artists, and fellow enthusiasts. Ask the questions you've always wondered about. Meet people who turn one night into a lasting connection.

Knowledge

Worth sharing

Every series leaves you with real stories, real knowledge, and a deeper love for what you drink — no gatekeeping, ever. Come as a first-timer, leave as part of the family.

Listen

The room,
after the room.

Every night we record becomes an episode — the table, the questions, and the live set, kept intact. If you couldn't make the room, this is the next best seat.

Episode feeds go live with the first pour.

Before you come

Honest answers.

Do I need to know anything about the category?

No. Three of the five chairs at the table are first-timer chairs — the curious are the majority, by design, not by courtesy. If a conversation can't be followed by someone new to it, we're doing it wrong.

Is there a cost?

Yes and no. There's no ticket at the door. You buy your own drinks, and that's the whole of it — and the drinks the host is featuring that night, the ones made with their own brand, are poured free or at a reduced price. The thing everyone came to taste isn't the thing you're paying for. What you do spend at the bar helps pay the bartenders and the musicians working the room.

Private and brand-hosted nights work differently, and every announcement says plainly which kind of night it is.

Am I going to end up on a podcast?

The table is recorded. The room is the room. If you'd rather not be on mic, sit back from the table and enjoy the set — nobody will point a microphone at you.

Do I have to drink?

Not at all. Three of our series — Slow Steep, First Light, and Zero Proof — have no alcohol in them at all, and there's always a non-alcoholic pour on the table. The conversation is the reason to be there.

Where do you record?

Real rooms, wherever the table is set. We started in New Orleans and we keep coming back, but The Pour is built to travel — bars, roasteries, distilleries, galleries, and the occasional boardroom with a view. The room is chosen to match the series, not the zip code. Every announcement names the city.

Can two series run in different cities at the same time?

Yes — that's the point. A series isn't a time slot, it's a subject. Agave Underground can be pouring in New Orleans the same week Session is pouring in Washington, DC. Each pour is its own night, its own room, and its own episode.

Can my brand or venue host a series?

Yes. We work with makers, venues, and sponsors who want to be part of the conversation rather than interrupt it. Reach out and we'll send the details.
